Telegram Notifications

Get real-time Cassian alerts sent directly to your Telegram. Fast, free, and works on any device.

Cassian™ has an official Telegram bot that sends you real-time alerts. Faster than email, works on your phone, and free to use.

Telegram notifications are available on the Protector plan and above. Inspector and Analyst accounts receive email notifications only.

Setting up Telegram

Go to Settings → Notifications → Channels

Click Add Telegram

Cassian generates a unique linking code for your account

Open Telegram on your phone or desktop and search for @CassianNotificationsBot

Start the bot and send the command /start YOUR_CODE — Cassian shows you the exact command to copy, so no typing needed

The bot confirms the link and sends a test notification immediately

Once linked, Telegram is active and ready to receive alerts.

Choosing which events come to Telegram

Go to Settings → Notifications → Preferences. The matrix shows event types as rows and channels as columns. Toggle Telegram on or off independently for each event type — for example, you might want uptime alerts in Telegram but scan results only by email.

Unlinking Telegram

Go to Settings → Notifications → Channels → Remove Telegram. The bot stops sending immediately. Your Telegram account is not affected.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Telegram account?

Yes. Telegram is a free messaging app available on iOS, Android, and desktop. Download it from your device's app store or at telegram.org.

Can multiple people on my team link their own Telegram accounts?

Yes. Each team member goes through the linking flow independently. Everyone receives the same notifications for the sites they have access to.

I linked Telegram but I'm not getting messages — what's wrong?

Make sure you sent the /start command with your exact linking code. Codes expire after a short time — if yours has expired, go to Settings → Notifications → Channels and generate a new one. If the bot is linked but silent, check that Telegram notifications are enabled in the preference matrix.

Can I mute Telegram notifications at night?

Cassian doesn't control Telegram's notification schedule, but Telegram itself lets you mute a bot's notifications for a set duration. Open the bot's chat → tap the bell icon → choose a mute duration.

Is the Telegram bot secure?

Yes. The bot is outbound-only — it sends messages to you. It cannot read your Telegram messages or access any part of your Telegram account. The linking code is one-time use and expires after the session.

What if I get a new phone or Telegram account?

Unlink your current Telegram from Settings → Notifications → Channels → Remove Telegram, then go through the linking flow again with your new account.
